The Julie Nation Academy's Adult "Nation-Merrill" Short Course is a 10-session training program comprised of lecture and workshops.
The goal of this course is to develop and strengthen personal growth, confidence, presence, and professional appearance, while assisting in successful career preparation and advancement.

This course is taught by Julie Nation and Maureen Merrill, our Director of Adult Finishing. Maureen is the principal of Harris Merrill Consulting, which provides message development, presentation coaching,
communication workshops, and facilitation to private clients and organizational teams. With an M.A. in psychology and a background of business writing, Maureen's major interest is in furthering authentic
self-expression, confidence, and powerful communication. She is a former elected city councilmember, a leader in Rotary International, and a frequent speaker on communication and leadership topics.

Course Outline
Designed for women: Confidence, communication skills, and an image makeover!
Who doesn't want to be more savvy about looks, self-confidence, expression and image?! In our collective decades of experience, we have met very few women who don't wish to be even more poised and polished as they face life's challenges. We have seen that even the most successful among us are interested in developing even better speaking skills, greater grace in everyday situations, stronger leadership qualities and a more magnetic personal presence.
Throughout this course, you'll experience the power of our step-by-step, personalized coaching. We discuss the actual behaviors of confident presence-even charisma-as well as the thoughts and habits behind a more successful and self-expressed personal image.
Image Makeover . . . see the results in "Before" photos AND a professional "New You" photo at the end of the course!
Among the topics covered throughout our ten sessions are:
- Individual Strengths:
Visual image, personality, personal strengths, and body language
- Image, wardrobe and personal presence:
professional, individualized advice on color, hair, walking, posture, make-up, accessories and wardrobe choices.
- Accomplishment and Understanding:
Exploring differences and difficulties between people, charisma and likeability, and your best responses to challenging situations.
- Communication Coaching:
Express yourself and strike the right note in any situation.
- Action & Advancement Strategy:
Priorities, self-expression, and shaping the life you intend to have and keep.
- Grand Finale:
Image make-over and self expression finale, including professional make-up and photograph.
