The Julie Nation Academy's Children's Modeling & TV Commercial Auditioning Program is taught with a deep interest in building self-esteem and positive attitude.

The goal is to teach students basic skills in fashion runway modeling, photography posing, and television acting. The students will also get year-round in-the-field special events, opportunities, and marketing to local employers for potential employment. Parent participation is important, and a seminar is set up for parents specifically!

CLASS SCHEDULING |

The Children's Modeling and television commercial acting program is scheduled to meet once a week for one hour for six weeks with a total of 6 instructional hours, plus a 2 hour agency procedure workshop (for parents only) which will be held during 2 class times. Parents also may be present and participate during children's regular classes, as directed by the instructor.

Children's Modeling & TV Commercial Acting Program Brief Course Outline
Posture and Fashion
These sessions teach healthy posture and walking habits, which also enhance daily confidence. There will be many different aspects of this section of the course. The children will learn how to stand, walk, pose, turn, "use" their clothes while walking and posing, and most importantly have fun and smile!!! Fashion show runway presentations are practiced.
Television Commercial Acting Workshop
These workshops will consist of breaking the children out of their shells and letting their personalities shine! The children will each be given a short (10 second) commercial they will memorize that is age appropriate. This short commercial will be something that they can take with them to auditions we have here at our school or any other auditions you may attend for acting. Etiquette is also taught for age-appropriate situations.
Photo Posing Preparation
This class will teach the children how to move and be comfortable behind the camera. Each child will be taught various poses that they can use in photo shoots. Standing, sitting, and laying poses will all be taught and practiced. This will consist of 2 full-length looks (2 outfits with a different hair style for each) with 12 proofs for each look
Photography Portfolio Session
The children will have a short test photography session in class to practice their newly learned skills behind the camera. This will let the children get a feel for photo shoots and make them comfortable, confident and excited for future photo shoots.
Agency Procedures & Parent Seminars
This will teach the children what an interview and audition will be like. Mock interviews will be held to show the children (and parents) how simple and easy an interview or audition can be. The key to a successful audition or interview is for the children to be relaxed and just act like themselves.
The parent seminar will be for the parents to learn the ins and outs of the industry. The parents will have a chance to ask any questions they want and to learn about things such as resumes, portfolio books, composites, zed cards, contracts, child labor laws, and much more!
