HOLLY GERMAN
ATTITUDE ATTENDANCE APPEARANCE
My name is Holly German. I am 13 years old and am in the 7th grade. I am a Student Council member at my school and part of the leadership program. I enjoy helping my community.
I just finished the Professional Modeling Program at Julie Nation Academy. The classes were fun and educational. I learned a lot about modeling. I met so many nice people and made many new friends. I hope to take the acting classes in the near future and look forward to the many opportunities that Julie Nation Academy will provide.
From the first day that we drove to Julie Nation Academy, which is 2 ½ hours away, to meet Julie and learn about the modeling program, I knew it was the school that I wanted to attend. I felt so welcomed and could tell that Julie really cared about me and my future. Harasyn, Missy, and Amanda are all great teachers and I can’t thank them enough for all their help and support! I feel really honored to receive Outstanding Student of the month. Thank you for everything!
My name is Sophia Traina, and I am eleven years old. I live in Northern Mendocino County. Like several other Julie Nation Academy students, my mom and I make a long but worthwhile commute!
I became a student of Julie Nation Academy when I was ten. I enjoyed studying personal development, runway and acting. I have had a blast as a member of the Junior Modeling Troupe under Christina Fullmer's excellent instruction.
I began to study acting with "Jacqueline the Awesome" at the Academy in 2011, and have enjoyed workshops with some excellent instructors like Dawn Jeffrey-Nelson. This past summer was the greatest, as I played the part of MacGregor in a film directed and produced by Robert Robbins called the C.U.P.I.D Chronicles.
I am proud and excited to have signed with an agent who interviewed me at Showcase in November 2012. I could call that "my lucky day," but my mom reminds me that luck occurs when preparation meets opportunity! I was prepared at Julie Nation Academy, and Showcase gave me my opportunity!
I am looking forward to continuing my education and working as much as possible for my new agent!
I would like to thank Harasyn, Amanda, Nancy, Carmen and of course, Julie for all their care and help in so many small and huge ways.
My name is Laury Ostrow and I turned 64 this year. I still have my hair…and she’s still sending me valentines, birthday greetings and a bottle of wine. :-)
When I started attending Julie’s school, I told her that I’ve made it this far on my wit and intelligence, so I thought I’d try something new: my good looks. I’m not sure about that, but since attending Julie Nation Academy I’ve had more fun than, well, let’s just say lots of fun. Plus I’ve learned how to walk and pose and look pretty in front of the camera.
Life has given me much freedom. I am a designer and entrepreneur, and have gone from guitars to books to clothing and kinetic art. You can see one of my mobiles hiding by the front desk. I also teach gardening to 3rd graders, take kids on turtle treks and am continually amazed by my 17 year old son.
Thank you Julie, Harasyn and all the great folks I have met while pursuing a fantasy.
Hi! My name is Baylee Self and I’ll be 16 in October. I’m a junior in high school and just started attending the Connections Visual and Performing Arts Academy in Tuolumne, CA.

I began taking classes at Julie Nation just this summer. I live in the Sierra foothills, which is a 3+ hour drive to Santa Rosa, and the long drive has been worth every minute! I’ve learned so much here. The classes are interesting, exciting and fun. There are so many opportunities to further my career here both in modeling and acting.
I was fortunate to participate in the Summer Acting Film Project this August. It was a great experience and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. I highly recommend it!
A big “Thanks!” to Julie and Harasyn and all the staff here! I’m looking forward to Showcase in November!

MEL KONRAD
ATTITUDE ATTENDANCE APPEARANCE
Hi! I’m MeL Konrad. After 28 years as co-owner of Advent Office Furniture, I am now practicing semi-retirement from my executive administrative work there.
I’m enjoying some of my new hobbies: Toastmasters, Event Planning, Music, Home Exchange and Acting
My new interests require that I step out of my comfort zone. After researching various options to support my new outgoing lifestyle, I decided to take Julie and Maureen’s Personal Development Program for Adults. I was able to incorporate many of the tips from the class into tools to aid me in my plans for success.
I’ve always enjoyed TV commercials and thought I’d love to participate. The Acting and TV Commercial class was a natural next step for me.
I’ve done both print ads and internet commercials, thanks to the support from Julie and her staff.
Every time I walk into The Julie Nation Academy, I have fun while being challenged at the same time. I look forward to attending my first Showcase in November.
Thank you Julie, Harasyn and all your staff for your warmth and support; and for the excellent track record Julie Nation Academy has in the industry.
